It flowers from mid- to late-summer, its flowers forming a delicate coat over the 3- to 6-foot tall upright, arching foliage. Grown en masse, it makes an excellent background or mid-depth plant in borders, serving as a visual screen in wet soils, where it reaches up to 6 feet in height. (In average garden soils, it usually stays in the 3- to 4-foot range).
