Willow Stars with Elizabeth Stanger 12/5 - 10:00 AM

Join Elizabeth Stanger of Little Way Caskets for a fun, hands-on introduction to willow star weaving! Participants will learn foundational weaving techniques and create a beautiful willow star, approximately 10–12 inches across, to hang on a front door or display throughout the home as a natural holiday decoration.

We'll explore the basic structure of woven stars, along with ways to vary their size, weaving patterns, and details. Participants will also learn how these techniques can be applied to smaller stars for Christmas tree ornaments, seasonal garlands, or year-round home décor.

What the workshop will cover:

• Beginner-friendly, foundational willow weaving techniques that can be applied to future weaving projects.
• A guided demonstration and step-by-step instruction for creating your own willow star.
• Tips for customizing your star through different sizes, weaving patterns, and decorative details.

If you finish your first star early, you'll have an opportunity to experiment with another variation or create a second, smaller star using available materials at no additional charge, if time and materials allow. Elizabeth will also have bundles of willow available for purchase for anyone interested in continuing to make stars at home, along with instructions for preparing willow for future weaving projects.

Please note: The workshop will proceed if a minimum of four participants have registered by November 27th
